Ugh Snow!
So, it snowed buckets last weekend here in Louisville. Yes, SNOWED! In March!!! The weekend before, everyone had started thinking of where they were going to put all the snow boots, coats, sweaters, socks, thermal underwear, gloves, hats, and heaters...in lieu of the shorts, tank tops, swim shoes, trunks, suits, flip flops and froo froo dinks with umbrellas in them.. It was beginning to look a lot like Spring time. Alas, Mother Nature and Father Time had other plans (I HATE it when they go against MY plan, by the way!!)...and decided to give the city of Louisville a nice little wake-up call...AND all those school age kids one more day off. It dumped buckets...for Louisville that is (family out in the Prairies of Wyoming and the Mountains of Utah, you would have laughed at the "dusting" we got!). Regardless...it did give us a chance to take Nathan outside to play in the snow. We did realize that we are soooo unprepared for snow. Meaning, none of us have boots or matching gloves and hats and coats (because matching is SOOO important). Jonathon and I aren't that big of a deal, but poor Nathan had like two outfits on, just to stay warm. He DID have a nice warm coat and hat and gloves. Next year though, we will need to make sure we get some boots. Oh and snow paraphernalia...such as...a sled...?!
Oh yes, and one more thing....Nathan LOVED the snow...except when he had to touch it. ;)
Oh and another thing...it totally makes me want to live in Utah so that we can go sledding with The Frentheway Crew, and so Nathan can learn to ski (of course, that desire to live in Utah, in the cold, lasted about long enough to have the thought and then the desire turned to wanting to live in Arizona where we didn't ever have to deal with the cold took over.).

Photo Shoot
So...last Wednesday, we had family pictures. Boy oh boy was that a disaster! Goodness sakes, have any of you tried to wrangle a 15 month old to stand in one spot, on a backdrop, and try to entice him to make his cutest faces and giggles so that some strange lady can make lots of flashes go off in his eyes? Yeah...me either, since Nathan wasn't having ANY of it! All he wanted to do was eat "cookies" and play with the car keys while saying "car car" and "bye bye" and climb the stairs to find the car already!
Needless to say, Donna DID get some very cute shots! Go here to see :
http://www.wolfordphotography.com/
1. Click on the "Clients" tab.
2. Click on where it says "Click here to view proofs and order online".
3. Scroll down to "Ice".
4. The password is "Nathan" (if it asks you for one).
It takes a couple of seconds to load...then watch the show!
Also, she now has it set up that you can register for an account (its free), and you can order the photos that you want, in the sizes that you want (for those great grandparents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and acquaintances that would like to have pictures of our tiny little family hanging on your wall) online! You know, IF you would like to do that! ;)
Let me know what you think! :)
(One more thing...because I know I will be asked: You will notice on each photo it has a the Wolford watermark, no that will not be on the photos that you order, if you order any. She does this to prevent people from just copying the images themselves, and it protects her copyright.) :)

Rock-A-Bye Baby...No More
So...for the last year or so (ever since Nathan has been on a "set" schedule...meaning 2 naps a day and bedtime at 8 or 8:30), we have had a nighttime ritual of taking a bath, getting Jim-Jams on, and then we rock him while he drinks a bottle. When his bottle was finished he would hand it over and grunt for his "bink". We then would lie him in bed with Mr. Bear, and walk out. We wouldn't hear anything from him until the sun came up. Well, last week...that all changed...
I believe I had a meeting to go to, so Jonathon put him to bed last Tuesday night. When I got home I asked if he went down okay and Jonathon told me that he didn't want to be rocked, so he just put him in his bed with his bottle and that was it. I thought surely it was just a fluke and that Nathan just wasn't tired...I denied that the "rocking" days were over. I sooo, didn't want to believe it. That was my favorite thing to do...hold him and rock him. It was the only time he really let us cuddle him. Normally he grabs a hug or a kiss real quick, so he can be on his way up the stairs or chasing a cat or something.
Alas, our Boy is growing up! The next night, he didn't want to be rocked either...and hasn't since the last night I did it, over a week ago. It is quite sad really. He is growing up. Pretty soon he is going to beg me to drop him off three blocks away from school! He wont want to be seen with me in public!
On the brighter side...even though his Rock-A-Bye days are over, he has become more cuddly during the day and right after his naps. Also, he does give "loves" whenever requested...which I really TRY to keep to a minimum of 9,586,828,532 times a day. I wouldnt want him to be TOO lovey! ;)
